Network & Infrastructure

Infrastructure that doesn't
hold your business back.

Whether you're opening a new office, refreshing aging hardware, or dealing with a network that's always the bottleneck — I assess your situation and make sure your infrastructure matches where you're headed.

You're probably a fit if…

Infrastructure problems tend to be obvious once they're a problem. The goal is to get ahead of them.

You're opening or moving an office

Network design, ISP selection, hardware specification, and vendor coordination. Done right before you move in — not patched together after the fact.

Your network is unreliable

Slow Wi-Fi, bandwidth bottlenecks, aging switches. Not just a nuisance — it's a productivity drain and a security risk. There's usually a root cause and a fix that's more targeted than "replace everything."

Hardware is aging toward end of life

Firewalls, switches, and access points don't last forever. Plan the refresh before something fails and you're making decisions under pressure with no lead time.

You've added remote or hybrid workers

VPN, remote access, and SD-WAN need to be configured correctly — not just "working well enough." Security and usability don't have to be in conflict.

What's included in a network engagement.

Scope is confirmed after an initial assessment. Most engagements combine design, vendor selection, and implementation oversight.

Not included

  • Hands-on cable runs or physical installation (I manage the vendor who does this)
  • Datacenter or co-location management
  • Cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Ongoing network monitoring

How a network engagement works.

Most network problems are diagnosed correctly the first time you look at them carefully. The hard part is making sure the fix matches the actual problem.

01

Assessment

Site visit or remote review of your current infrastructure. I identify bottlenecks, end-of-life hardware, security gaps, and mismatches between what you have and what your business actually needs.

02

Design

Recommended architecture for your size and requirements — not over-engineered, not under-built. Hardware specs, topology, and ISP options included. You see what you're buying before you buy it.

03

Vendor selection

ISPs, hardware vendors, and managed network providers evaluated, compared, and selected. I negotiate with vendors. You don't have to be the one translating between their sales decks and your actual requirements.

04

Implementation oversight

I manage the vendors doing the physical work — your ISP, hardware integrator, and anyone else in the chain. You're not the intermediary. I'm on-site or available through the cutover window.

05

Documentation

Network diagram, hardware inventory, license and warranty expiration tracking, and configuration notes. Whoever needs to deal with this next — your MSP, an employee, a future vendor — has what they need.

Start with what's actually the problem.

Tell me what's happening — slow network, new office, aging hardware, or an upcoming refresh. I'll tell you what an engagement looks like and whether it makes sense.
